What personal data we collect and why
We collect personal data only when you actively provide it to us — through our booking form or contact form. This includes your name, email address, phone number, and any other details you provide when making an enquiry or booking.
We use this information solely to:
Process and confirm your booking
Communicate with you about your workshop or holiday
Send booking-related follow-up (e.g. joining instructions, balance reminders)
We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties except where required to fulfil your booking (e.g. accommodation providers on photography holidays).
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the basis of contract — i.e. it is necessary to fulfil the booking you have made with us. In some cases we may also rely on legitimate interests (e.g. responding to an enquiry).
How long we keep your data
We retain booking records for 6 years in line with UK tax and accounting obligations. Contact enquiries that do not result in a booking are deleted within 12 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations)
Object to or restrict processing
Withdraw consent at any time (where consent is the basis for processing)
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

About
I began photography in 1979, and it has shaped my life ever since. Over the decades, I've worked across landscapes, portraits, documentary, and creative photography — always driven by the same question: how can I see this differently?
But my greatest joy has always been teaching. Watching someone go from "I can't do this" to "look what I just created" — that never gets old.
I teach because I genuinely believe that everyone has a photographer inside them. My job is simply to help you find yours.
